Learning from Home

Dear Parents/Carers

There is no sign of an imminent return to school. Whilst they are away, we are committed  to providing learning for the children. It is essential that all pupils complete the work otherwise they are likely to fall behind. Catching up will be hard to do when they return to school.

From Monday, the children should be returning to learning after the Easter holidays. Please treat the time as school time, but at home. At the moment our records show that only about 60% of our children have accessed the online materials that the school has provided.

During the holidays the staff from Victory and Beacon View have been working together to create exciting and engaging learning for all pupils in our community. There should be enough for at least three hours/day . The work set will be a mixture of reviewing old learning and introducing new learning. It will come with videos to watch or explanations of how to do tasks.

If something doesn't make sense, or your child is struggling you or they should email your child’s teacher.

Teachers will be contacting you next week if they haven't already done so, in order that you can ask questions you may have.

The children who are in school will be doing the same learning as children working at home

We don't expect parents/carers to be superheroes or teachers but we ask that you do your best to help your child complete as much of the learning as they can.

The timetables provided are a suggestion but don't have to be strictly followed as long as the learning is attempted to the best of your child's ability.

Because many of us are having to stay inside, we have provided daily PE lessons to keep your family fit and healthy, but these aren't compulsory especially if you are managing to go outside for exercise

We don't know when we will all be back together again but we want the children to be fully prepared and ready for learning when they do return to us.

If you are having safeguarding or family worries at home that you are finding it hard to contend with, please contact the school office or your child's teacher and we will try our best to help.

Best wishes
we miss you all.

Mr J Hartley and Mrs K Jones
