Geography

In Geography, the children at the Victory Primary will be learning to be Geographers. They will be inspired to ask questions about the world around them.

During their time at the Victory Primary school the children will be progressively learning about themselves in their community all the way up to the effect people are having on the planet. They will be exploring the differences in environments and changes in weather and landscapes. From erupting and dormant volcanoes to the ecosystem of a rainforest. Using technology such as Google Earth, the children will have the opportunity to learn, see and explore the areas of the planet that they are learning about. They will learn about how they belonging to the planet and being to understand their role in the world.

The children have the opportunity to use equipment such as atlases, maps and compasses to help them explore the world around them and understand where on the planet changes occur.

Each term the children have a Geography focus to their learning (this will be alternated with a History focus).
